El Tanino 1752 Garnacha Tintorera

El Tanino 1752 Alta Expresión shows a dense brooding color of purple due to the grape red flesh and thick skin. This wine is made of Garnacha Tintorera coming from a 50 years old vine aged in French oak barrels for 12 months. It is a cross between Petite Bouchet and Grenache, the most dominant variety in Southern Rhône especially Châteauneuf du Pape.
The nose opens with scents of balsamic, Vanilla, cherries, anise, plum, blackberries and baking spices. It is a full bodied with subtle elegance. The tannins are non-obstructive while the acidity is invigorating, making a wine with layers of complexity and an irresistible silkiness. El Tanino 1752 won the Gold medal at the most prestigious wine competition in Spain at the Bacchus 2016.
The wine will go well with all kind of red meats, roasts, pizza, cheeses, Mediterranean dishes with tomatoes, paprika and herbs such as thyme, oregano, rosemary and pepper. But it will go very nicely with chocolate or chocolate with hints of cayenne to spice it up a little. So it is very much an everyday wine that can easily be pulled into a treat of chocolate as well.
